A Surprise Baltimore Ravens Proposal for a Sapphic Couple
Mckenzie and Jess (she/her, she/her) headed to M&T Bank Stadium on a Thursday morning with two very different ideas about why they were there.
While Mckenzie knew it was the day she would finally propose to the love of her life, Jess believed she was attending a networking event as Mckenzie’s plus one. The two of them arrived at their destination of the Baltimore Ravens stadium and met their tour guide (or in Jess’ mind the employee showing them to the event), who led them toward the players’ locker room.
Waiting inside was a customized proposal setup in the Ravens player, Mark Andrews’ locker. At first, Jess didn’t notice it. As Mckenzie gently guided her attention toward the display, she took a moment to process what she was seeing. Even then, it took a few seconds before she realized the proposal was actually for her.
The look of pure surprise on her face was everything.
Although the two had talked about getting engaged, Jess was convinced it wouldn’t happen until after graduating from PA school a few months later. The proposal completely caught her by surprise in the best possible way.
Mckenzie shared just how much Jess means to her before getting down on one knee and pulling out the hidden engagement ring. The two of them soaked in the moment together, creating a memory that would become part of their story forever. ✨
The Perfect LGBTQ+ Proposal at M&T Bank Stadium
After giving them space to enjoy the moment, I began guiding them into natural poses that allowed them to stay connected and present with each other. One of my favorite parts of being a Maryland LGBTQ+ photographer is creating space for couples to simply be themselves rather than forcing moments that don’t feel authentic.
Once they finished celebrating in the locker room, we made our way out to the field using the same tunnel players walk through on game day.
Mckenzie and Jess embraced every second of the experience. They jumped up to tap the doorway marked “Play Like a Raven” and touched the raven fixture as they entered the field, following the same traditions as the players before kickoff.
Knowing this day was already filled with meaningful firsts, Mckenzie had planned even more surprises.
The first was impossible to miss.
Displayed on both RavensVision jumbotrons was a personalized congratulatory message celebrating their engagement. And if that wasn’t thoughtful enough, Mckenzie pulled out a football she’d brought along so the two of them could toss passes together on the sidelines.
Honestly? Iconic.

The tour continued, and so did the list of shared experiences and firsts.
Next, the guide led them into The Trust, an ultra-premium field-level club that opened in 2025 and offers exclusive team access. The space combines luxury with historic Baltimore-inspired design elements, making it a stunning backdrop for engagement photos and a perfect continuation of the day’s celebrations.
After exploring The Trust, the couple visited the coaches’ offices, stopped beneath the glowing Ravens eyes above the locker room entrance, and finished the tour with a behind-the-scenes look at the private suites and broadcasting areas.
Every stop felt intentional, adding another layer to an already unforgettable Baltimore Ravens proposal.
