Avery and Curtis (she/her, he/him) met at the local grill & bar in Sykesville that sits along the old train tracks, by chance. As Curtis was getting ready to leave that night, he had bumped into Avery’s mom where they casually chatted and she had told him that her daughter was on the way to meet her there! After staying to chat a little longer, Curtis was about to call it a night and started heading towards the door, then Avery walked in, and he knew as soon as he saw her that he wasn’t going anywhere. This was the night these two started their beautiful love story that brought them to their current engagement.
Like many couples who get engaged, it was important to them that they documented this chapter of their love together! When choosing an engagement photoshoot location it is always my priority to consider what setting(s) align with the couples interested and values. For A&C I knew it had to be something in nature and have some type of element of water, to represent the time they spend together by the water. Maryland has so many photogenic locations, but for this session Patapsco Valley State Park made for such a perfect spot. It tied together all of the elements along with the bonus of being close by to an old railroad (similar to how the grill & bar did where they first met). ✨

It was such a good time getting to explore the park with A&C while hearing about their love story and the life they’ve built together.
